JLG Forklift Parts - After retiring in the late 1960's, John L. Grove set out on a cross country RV voyage. After spending many years establishing his family built crane business with his brother, John had no idea that this trip would give birth to the rise of JLG Industries, Inc. The world leader of mobile aerial work platforms and precision materials handling equipment was the end result of a road expedition.

All through their trip, John reacquainted himself with previous business associates along the way. In combination with these conversations and a significant event; two workers were unfortunately electrocuted on scaffolding when the Groves were passing through the Hoover Dam. John discovered a substantial market for a product that could quickly and safely lift individuals in the air to accomplish maintenance and other building functions.

Upon returning from their travels, John formed a joint venture with two friends and acquired a metal fabrication company in McConnellsburg, Pennsylvania. In 1970, opening operations with a crew of twenty personnel, they built and sold the first JLG aerial work platform. The business incorporates many of the simple design elements of that original lift into current designs.

JLG lift trucks have come a ways since Mr. John L. Grove returned to town from his cross-country road trip and since the initial aerial work platform debuted on the market. At present, the business proudly continues to expand itself into many markets worldwide and develops new products to ensure customers are capable of being more effective and perform in the workplace within a safer environment.
